Services

We’re proud to offer comprehensive, compassionate dental care that will meet your every need.

Preventative– It is our goal to help you maintain your dental health and prevent small problems from becoming more serious. Dr. Smith will work along with our hygienists to evaluate your gums, teeth and oral tissue. They will also perform a head and neck exam and a thorough oral cancer screening.

Digital imaging– Our advanced digital x-ray sensors provide a clear image with very low radiation. We can immediately show you the picture on a screen to help explain our findings.  We also utilize specialized digital cameras for documentation and to help in educating our patients.

Periodontal care- Dr. Smith and our dental hygienists, Kim, Anne, or Annaliesa will complete a thorough periodontal exam to evaluate the health of your gums and supporting bone. If your gums are relatively healthy, you may only need a simple “cleaning” where the hygienist removes the plaque and tartar from your teeth.

In cases of more advanced periodontal disease we will complete your cleaning over several visits and will recommend you come in more frequently for maintenance to prevent the disease from returning.

Periodontal disease is very common and is caused by bacteria under the gums that destroy the attachment of the gum to the tooth.  If the bacteria are not removed and the periodontal disease progresses, it can lead to loss of the tooth. We treat periodontal disease by elimination of these harmful bacteria and removal of plaque and tartar that allow the bacteria to colonize your mouth.

Pediatric care– Dr. Smith and his staff love treating children and will provide a positive and fun experience for your child. We will review proper oral hygiene techniques, provide tips for a healthy diet, and give strategies to prevent cavities. It is our goal to educate and motivate kids to maintain healthy teeth and develop a good relationship with the dentist.

Dr. Smith will also complete an orthodontic evaluation for your child.  We are often able to identify orthodontic issues early and intervene to prevent more severe problems later.

Sealants- Dental sealants are thin fillings placed over the deep grooves in back teeth. They are most commonly placed on the permanent molars when they first erupt. Sealants are very effective in preventing cavities and there is typically no need to remove any of the existing tooth.

Nightguards – Clenching and grinding are very common habits and can cause substantial damage to your teeth. Often, patients are unaware this is taking place until they start to notice their teeth wearing down or develop pain in their jaw. Dr. Smith can design a custom nightguard to help relax your jaw muscles and prevent damage to your teeth. A nightguard can help prevent fractures, slow down tooth wear and extend the life of your existing dental work.

CEREC® One Visit Dentistry– We are able to fabricate beautiful and strong porcelain crowns and fillings that are customized for your mouth in only one visit. CEREC is a dental CAD/CAM system that utilizes a camera to digitally record an impression of your teeth. Next, a three dimensional model is created and used to design the crown which is then milled in a matter of minutes. Dr. Smith has completed many hours of advanced training and is an expert in the utilization of this technology.  CEREC eliminates the need for conventional impressions, temporaries, and multiple appointments.

Cosmetic Dentistry- If you are unhappy with the appearance or color of your teeth Dr. Smith can provide you with options to improve your smile. We offer whitening, veneers, and porcelain crowns.

Implants- Dental implants are an ideal solution to replace missing teeth. They can be used to replace a single missing tooth, support a bridge replacing multiple missing teeth, or to provide additional support and retention for a denture.

Crowns- When a tooth is fractured, cracked, or severely worn, a crown can be used to build it back to full strength. Crowns can also be used to improve the appearance of teeth that have large fillings or have discolored over time. Dr. Smith can provide strong, beautiful porcelain crowns in one visit using CEREC CAD-CAM technology.

Root Canals- If the nerve or blood supply of a tooth becomes damaged by a fracture, a large cavity, or trauma, a root canal may be indicated. Dr. Smith will remove the infected tissue and thoroughly clean and seal the tooth to prevent future problems. We use the most advanced techniques and materials, and your comfort during this procedure is our highest priority.

Fillings- If a tooth develops a cavity or has a small fracture, a filling can be used to repair the tooth and prevent further damage.

Specialty Care– We pride ourselves on providing a wide range of dental treatments in our office. There are times however, when a referral to a dental specialist is in your best interest. Dr. Smith has developed strong relationships with excellent oral surgeons, endodontists, and orthodontists. He works closely with each of them to coordinate your care and make sure you receive appropriate and timely treatment.

We also take your general health very seriously and will consult with your physician when needed. Many oral conditions can affect your general health and our goal is to help you maintain a healthy smile and a healthy body.

Dr. Andrew is amazing! I am typically very stressed when having dental work done. However, I have experienced nothing but comfort and pain free care from him and his wonderful staff. We drive from Bend to have dental work done at his office. Thanks again to Dr. Andrew Smith and his crew! I would recommend him to anyone.
